About the collection
Soft storage for the rooms you actually live in.
Storage baskets that can stay out in the room
The Woven Cotton Basket Set is a pair of hand-woven cotton rope baskets, one medium and one small, made to organise a room without asking for attention. The design is a natural top with a soft colour band below, finished with a small leather Soft Existence label, in White and Grey or White and Brown. The handles are woven into the sides rather than stitched on, so the silhouette stays clean on an open shelf and the basket still lifts easily when it is full. It is the kind of piece our guide to home decor in Dubai leans on: storage that reads as furniture.
What the two sizes are for
The medium basket takes throws, cushions, laundry, magazines or a tangle of toys in a living room; the small one suits a bedside, a bathroom shelf for towels and bottles, a nursery, or the top of a wardrobe for scarves and belts. Because cotton rope is soft, the baskets sit on wooden floors and painted shelves without marking them, and they fold into a cupboard when not in use. Our room-by-room guide to storage baskets works through each space, and toy storage ideas and choosing a laundry basket cover the two most common uses.
Care in a warm climate
Keep the baskets in dry rooms, away from a bathroom floor that stays wet, and reshape them by hand if they are stored folded. Marks come out with a soft cloth and a little warm water; let the cotton air dry rather than putting it in a machine. The full method is in how to clean a cotton rope basket.
Delivery and pairing
The set ships anywhere in the UAE in one to three business days; delivery is AED 18 and free on orders of AED 150 or more after discounts. Pair a basket with a scented soy candle for a housewarming gift, or use it beside the kitchen canisters and bread bins to keep tea towels and packets off the counter.
Basket questions, answered.
Materials, sizes, care and delivery for the woven cotton basket set.
01 What are the baskets made of?
100% woven cotton rope, coiled and stitched by hand, with a small leather Soft Existence label. There is no plastic liner, so the basket is soft to the touch and breathable, which matters for laundry and towels.
02 What sizes are in the set?
Two baskets: a medium for throws, laundry and toys, and a small for a bedside, bathroom shelf or dresser. They nest for storage and are sold as a pair in either White and Grey or White and Brown.
03 Can I wash a cotton rope basket?
Spot clean with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then let it air dry in shape. Avoid the washing machine and tumble dryer, which loosen the coil. If the basket has been folded, reshape it by hand and it settles back within a day.
04 Are the handles strong enough for laundry?
Yes. The handles are woven into the body of the basket rather than attached, so the load spreads through the rope rather than pulling on a seam. The medium basket carries a full load of washing comfortably.
05 How fast is delivery in the UAE?
One to three business days for standard delivery, which is AED 18 or free on orders of AED 150 or more after discounts. Same-day delivery and a four-hour Dubai option can be chosen at checkout.
